On the first innings Hastings defeated Havelock by 22 runs. Hastings, taking first strike, compiled 104 (Goodall 33, Bowlands 24, Colebrook 16) Bowling for Havelock, Toothill tooh two for 12, Woon two for 19, Pattersoii two ifor 21 and Woods one for 11. The Villagers realised only 82 runs (Patterson 22, Toothill 28). Plarik six for 21 and Amos four for two ytere Hastings 's best bowlers. Playing out timo. Hastings lost one wicket for 52 (Cushing 22 not out and Goodall 16 not out)
