Quickstep Competition Decided HASTINGS THIRD

NELSON, Last Niglit. A cloudless sky anil a light breeze fgvoure'd the quickstep competition. in the band contest on Qaturday afternoon, and a large crowd from a wide district witnessed the event at Trafalgar Park, where 19 banda competed. Splendid marching was seen, but some bands which excelled in this department lost heavily on the music points. Scoring consistently in both, Timaru won the A grade quickstep, while Wellington Tram- ■ 'ways completed the double by wixming the B grade, thua taking the Shardlo# HeiQorial Challenge Shield.
