In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, New South Wales, in its first innings, lost eight for 317--FiUgleton 1, RobiUsOn 47, McCabe 39, Barnes 31, Oldfield not out 58, White not out 78. The weather was delightful . and the wicket good. The match is attracting unusual interest owing to the approach of the final Test, when thfere are two vacancies in the Australian team to be filled. Five "possibles" are taking part in the match, including Lush and Cotton (fast bowlers) the former with definite ciaims of being an all-rounder. Bradman, being a Seleetor, has full opportunity as captain of the South Auatralians of judging the merits of the i eandidates.
