Disbanding Regimental . Camp DISTURBING DETONATION When a sharp, heavy thud rattled the doors and walls of buildings over a wide area in Waipukurau on Afonday laet, residenis wero perturbed and puzzled. It is now revealed that the disturbance was caused by the deliberato ignition of a quantity of gun-cotton by the rearguard of the 1st Wellington Begiment retently encamped at the Waipukurau racecourse, in the courso of breakinjg camp. It is the usual practice, when a box of gun-cottoh is opened, that it shall not be put back into store, owing to the danger of some foreign article getting into the box and, by friction, causing an explosion. Accordingly, the surplus gun-cotton at the camp which has juet closed was fired before the last of the men departed. ■
