SOVIET GUARD
500 Japanese Beaten by 35 Russians (Received 19, 1.45 p.m.) MOSCOW, Feb. 18. It is officially reported that 500 Japanese armed with i8 machine-gtms attacked 34 Soviet border guards near Lak© Khana. The Soviet guard held off the attackers for over 22 hours. The | casualties are not stated.
