JAPANESE EXPANSION

Question Asked in Tokio' DEPENDS ON CIRCUMSTANCE (Received 19, 11.5 a.m.) TOKIO, Feb. 18. In the Lower House the Liberal member Mr. Yukio Ozaki demanded to know whether Japan 's expansionism would be northward or southward and whether it would be eeonomic or militarv. The Premier, in reply to the first question, said the answer would depend on time and circumstances. In answer to the second, he said he believed that no country at present in the world would attempt an armed conquest.
