Mr K. McLeay, who has left Napier on a five-months business trip abroad, was granted leave of absence for that period by thq Napier Chamber of Commerce last evening. Mr H. Brown, of the staff of the telephone exchange, Napier^ has received notice of his transfer to the Wellington Post Office. Mr JE, L. Cullen, M.P., will retum to Hastings ffom Wellington to-night. He expects co leave agam iqr Taranaki on Tuesday. Mr A. J. Brown, a former Auckland architect, has been appointed chairman of the Housing ImprOvement Advisory Committee of New* South Wales. The committee has been set up under legislation passed last year, and will advise the State Government on- comprehensive measures for housing improvements.
