WANGANUI COUPLE'S GOLDEN WEDDING
•An event of gi'eat interest in the Wanganui district took place recently >vhen Mr. and. Mrs F. Webb Jones, Gonville Avenue, celebrated their golden wedding,. the occasian also 'mayking Mrs Webb Jones' birthday. They were marvied on February 17, 1887, at the homt of the bride's parents, the Bev. W. Tinsley officiating. Mrs .Webb Jones was Miss L. J. Nicholas and with hei parents, left ^er birthplace, Penzance. England, at an early age. Mr F. Webb Jones, who was tlie youngest son ot Mr and Mrs Joseph Jones, was born in Wanganui and has speilt all his life there. A journalist by profession, Mr Webb Jones has given long service on the Wanganui Herald and has filled the position of editor for a great number of years. He has had a long connection with tlie Trinity Methodist Cliurch and has a long xecord of superintendency of.tlie Sunday school as well as other offices of the church. Mrs Webb Jones also is an enthuKiastic . worker for .tlie. churcli and itB many branches of activifcies and has been closely associated with tlie women's work for Trinity.
