Final Gallops by Woodville Caiididates PASSION FLOWER AND PARRY

Most of the Hastings horses claiming engagements at Woodville on Satarday and Monday were given a run ilong this mornmg against the watch. Where not specified .the gallops were lone oa the plough track. The Hastings contingent leaves to-morrow but Sansfoy, lioyal Solo and Tuapai are already at Woodville. * * * Silver River (K. Brueur) wa« not exbended over five furlongs in 66secs. He is in great fettie, but since his fall at Hastings last November cannot be persxiaded to give of his best in a race. • • • . Allmetic (J . Prendegast) and Traiier (J. Olsen) were well clear of Cockfight (I. Briggs) over five in 66jsecs. • • • Master Cjyklon, who looks all the better for recent racing and travelling, tvas givein. a working gallop and impressed by putting more pep into his work bhan previously. • • • Tullamore (Cullen) and Mahutaj ^Briggs), a brace of two-year-olds in J. Ciements' stable, were given a halfmile sprint, which took thein 52. • • • Top Hat (P. Atkins), an 18-liands ;elding by Tractor from the California nare Molong, surprised by clearing out trom Grey Molley (H. Cannelon) and running the half-mile in 50 l-5secs, a §ood gallop. • • • Jazz Boy (H. Callenon), Helios (Pryor) and Mohua (P. Atkins) were xssociated in a five-furlong gallop. The iormer pafr finished five lengths in front xf Mahua in 63£. The first furlong took 12 and the first quarter 24secs. • • • Only One (C. Cameron) and Inheribance (B. Stowe) did not impress when bhe watch registered 65 for five; the last three took 40. There was nothing ko choosa between the pair at the twish

Passion Flower (H. Callenon) and Parry (B. Stowe) crossed the final iine together after galloping .five furlongs in 63, the best effort oi the morning. The first furlong took 11J, the first two 23^ and the three in 36J. • Parry, a Woodville Maiden c'andidate, did well to finish with Passion Flower at even , weights. . . ... . . Atkins), who took iully half-an-hbur before she would leave the mark, eventually ran four. furlongs in 51 easing up, but she was supposed to go six furlongs. . . • * . • • - On the course proper Gironde (P. Atkins) and Ago-g (B. Stowe) rain four in 48i, but the aistance was not quite there owing to the trestles being closer in than usual. • • On the same track Lavin'a (C. 'Strat- . ton) and a two-year-old gelding by. Siegfried from Tuleiteller rau twb in 23J. The latter is the -best looal two-year-old this season. • ■ ■ • Etzel (H. Callinan) finjshed ahead oi Mahaanui (L. Smith) over half a mile in 52, » » • ■ . Soho (P. Atkins) ran the last five of six furlongs in 66 but was by no means extended. He may go to Woodville for the second day. Seigfried (B. Stowe) did three comfortably jn 39J. • •- • Red CJockade (Gilmer) came down the straight against the bit. This Robespierre gelding will have his first etart in the Woodville Sapling Stakes on Saturday but is hardly forward enough to be recommended.
