Hospital Employee gets Salary in Advance — Then Leaves

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night.. That a member of the domestic-stail of the Rathbone Maternity Hospital, Waipawa, left her position as' soon as she had been paid a fortnight's salary in advance, was reported at a meeting' of the Waipawa Hospital Board to-day by the chairman, Mr. W, H. Rathbone, In accordance with -the. usual custom, the December wagos, he said, were paid out about December 23 or 24. When paid, one member of the staff had said, "I'm going, never mind why, ' ' and walked out. She had drawn a week '0 salary in advance and there was also a week for which she should have given notice, so she actually received two weeks' salary to which she was not entitled.
