WELLINGTON, Last Night. Bepresentatives of the "appreciation of Sxr James Alleh fund,5' in Wellington, have been advised by the Dunedin Publie Art Gallery Society that the society has a'Ccepted a porti-ait of Sir James pehding the time When prdvisioil may be made in the art gallery for a suitable display. The portrait has been ofi'ered on loan to Otago University Council and advice has been r^beived from the chancellor that the Council has appreciatively accepted the offer and that the portrait would be displayed oh the landihg oUtSide Allen hall.
