Gordon Walker, Ltd. mm I aafcj*. Another particularly heavy yarding came forward at Gordon Walker, Ltd.'s, weekly market sale held on Saturday last. An excellent attendance of buyers cauteed keen competition throughout the sale, and values were very firm or recorded a further increase on late rates. All classes of pullets sold well, and despite the heavy yarding the trade could not fill its requirements of cockerels and table birds. Porkers again sold in excess. of schedule rates, and all finished lines of lighter sorts found a ready market. Dairy stock sold at vendors' values, and a full offering of sundries was keenly sought after. Prices realtaed were as follow:— Poultry. — Table birds 1/11 to 7/-, W.L. hens 1/11 to 2/5 and 1/6 to 2/1, W.L. cockerels 1/6 to 2/9, W.L. pullets 3/6 to 5/3 and 2/7 to 3/9, B.O. hens 2/2 to 3/1, B.O. cockerels 1/11 to 3/5, B.O. Pullets 3/3 to 5/--, others (hens) 1/9 to 2/9, pullets 3/6 to 5/- and 1/11 to 2/11, cockerels 1/6 to 2/4, duck and ducklings to 14/6, dueks 4/- to 7/- a pair. Pigis. — Weaners 10/6 to 18/6 and 8/to 12/6, slips 177/7- to £1 5/-, stores £1 to £L 7/-, lt. porkers £1 6/- to £1 15/-, porkers £1 13/- to £2 0/6, .heavy porkers £2 2/-, to £2 11/-. Dairy stock. — Cows £2 12/6 to £4, heifers £1 and £1 7/*. Sundries included h.p. stove £4 15/-, women 's cycles £2 10/- to £3 17/6, 3 drayQ £3 to £6 5/-, copper £2 2/-, separators £1 to £3 4/6, trailer £5, pnlley 14/6, lawnmower 17/-, benzine tank 10/-, blow-lamp 10/-, garden hose 4/to 10/-, plough 10/-, spray pumps 10/6, harrow; leaf " 18/-, wire strainer 5 /-, saws 2/6 to 6/6,, shovels 3/6, grindstone 3/-, car carrier 5/-, planes 3/6 to 77/6, tin snips 3/-, and odd tools at full value. Produce, including apples, tomatoes," potatoes and all seasonal vegetables, sold at vendors' values.
