IN BUYERS' FAVOUR
To-day,s Fat Cattle Sale at Stortford VALUES STILL HIGH The inarket for fat cattle at Stortford Lodge to-day was slightly in the buyers' favour, hut a high level of values was maintained throughout the selling. 1 In contrast with last week's offering, ox beef predominated. This was due to the yarding of a large draft of 70 bullocks down from Bukumoana Station, Te Pohue. These bullocks were chiefly oi medium weights, being solidly finished, although they did not tlook their best owing to having been. on the road for a'few days. A number of these pens eonsisted of useful chilling sorts, which met with good bidding. The draft ranged from £10 10/- to £13 11/-. The top price for ox beef during the earlier selling was £12, for a pen oi medium to heavy dehorned Hereford bullocks offered on account of Mr Robert Hardmg, Raukawa. Plain quality dominated the female 6ection of the offering, for which values remained at a surprisingly high level to show little change on late saies. In this section buyers did not hav© a wide range to select from. The best sorts made to £9 1/-, and these were showing age. The principal draft in tfiis section was also from Rukumoana Station.
