Preparations For Increased Activities AERO CLUB HELP
(By
With the advent of such good •flying weather as we have recently experienced great possibilities are opened up for the modellists, and the officials. of all Hawke's Bay clubs are preparing for a flying season of much increased activities and with the hopes of putting up leading records in some classes. Records of Flights. In the matter of . records it seems evidont that so many modellists are ignorant of the great advantages available to club members. Club members who are also affiliated members of the parent body, the New Zealand Model Aeroplane Aasociation, are entitled to claim official recognition of all record flights and the association makes regular announcements of the latest records and who has eslablished them. ECeadquarters at Auckland. The headquarters of the New Zealand Association are at Auckland, and every clnb secretary is in constant touch through the official channels. These channels are provided in the sub-dis-trict headquarters which, in the case of the Hawke's Bay Area, is the North Island (Southern Districts) Model Aeroplane Association. This and other sub-associations conduct their own district, competitions and generally under the N.Z.M.A.A. rules. The N.I. (S.D.) A.A. holds quarterly meetings of delegates from each affiliated club and though the attendance of delegates has

The Cost of Delegates. One difficulty to be overcome in sending delegates along is general with the majority of clubs. It is the cost of travelling and other incidentals while. there. With wise organisation these expenses could be met from a special club fund built up for that purpose and sufficient at first, perhaps, to finance two attendances in the one year; half-yearly and annual meetings. As additional funds are available from a greater mernbership in each club the delegates could be sent more often. Sacrifices must be made where possible to accompli'sh this purpose before we c&n look for the public support so much needed. Aero Oluh's Support. Already the H.B. and E.C. Aero Club has demonstrated its approval of the modellists aims and activities by making a generous donation to the funds of the recent holiday meet of the Napier v. Hastings M.A. Clubs. The Auckland Aero Club has come forward with assistance for the Auckland M.A.C. in their recent meet and one of the aero club 's officials preseni prizes to the record winners, A Competition. "Assembly" would wish the builders to show a similar increase of interest in their own club matters. For this purpose a reward of 2/6 worth of material will be donated to the builder who Bubmits the most sati'sfactory plan — not elaborate, but clear — of a glider the material of which costs not more than 2/6. All entries to be judged by a club instructor and to be posted to "Assembly," c/o Hawke's Bay Herald-Tribune. Open to all Hawke's Bay xesidents.
