BUCHAREST, Jan. 14. Representatives oi the German Government are negotiating at present in Bucharest foi the purchase of unusually large quantities of agricultural products and of petroleum. In exchange for these goods the Reich is offeding machinery for the mauufacture of armaments and industnal equipment. Although Germany bas been recently absorbing the greatest pai't of Rumania's grain surplus, a new demand for 200,000 tons of maize, 100,000 tons of wheat, and 10,000 tons of dried peas has to-day reached liumanian cxporterB. This special demund is benig exarnined by the Governmeut together with a German offer for the purchase of od products to the value of L500,000, in addition to normal contracts. As a consequence of the Reich 's mtensive buying campaign in Rutnama, Germany has beiome this country's principal oustomer. During tbe first nine months of 1930 Rumatiia exported to Germany goods to the value oi £7.500,000, while its exports to the rest of the world- amounted to £24,000,000. In other words, the Reich absorbed nearly one-third of Rumania's 1 total exports.
