J. Kitching Wins the Storkey Memorial Cup SHOOT IN NAPIER The annuai shoot for the Storkey Memorial Cup took plac'e on the Napier Dei'ence Club's rifle range at Wharerangi during the week-end. This cup was presented for annuai competition • between meinber§ of rifle clubs in Hawke's Bay, and the large attendance at the, shoot was a splendid tri- ' bute to the late Mr E. Storkey. Weather . conditions, for the shootr were fairly good in the morning but became tricky in the afternoon. Ranges were 300, 500 and 600 yards, seven shot» at each, the club standards' being 33, 34 and 33. Rifleman J. Kitching and L. Henry, of the Okawa Club, aud.J. Hawkihst of the Napier Club tied with 100 eacl» for the trophy, and in the shoot-off J. Kitching was the winner. Top gcore foR the day off the rifle was registered by G. S. Campbell, he beating P. H. James. and R. O. Holt, also with 99, on the count-back. Possibles were registered at 300 by H. C. Russell and R. C. Holt, and at 500 yards by J. Sim. At the oonclusion of the shoot, the president, Mr F. C. Wi-ight, expressed his pleasure on behalf of the Napier club at the large attendance and then called on Mrs Storkey to present the cup. Mr W , G. Bryce, of the Waipukurau club, returned thanks on behalf of 'the visitors. Details ara as follow: —
