f INVERCARGILL, Last Night. "The Isle of Forgotten People" (Hon. T, F. Doyle's deseription of Stewart Island) is now. to have the light of Ministerial attention f ocussed upon it. The Minister of Public Works, Hon. R. Semple, who is visiting the island accompanied by the Minister of Mines, Hon. P. C. Webb, promised deputations that a ■ comprehensive survey of the island would be made as early as possibie with the object of ascertaining the potehtial value of the island industrially and from a tourist viewpoint. "The Government," he said, "is determined to explore the resources of every part of the Dominion and Stewart Island will not be forgotten as it ap:pears to have been up to now."
