Fined For Opium Smoking

AUCKLAND, Feb. 12. Caught smeking opium in the loft of a stable, two Chinese appeared in the Police Court this morning. Ah Soo, for being found in the possession of prepared opium, was^fined the minimum of £25, while Ah Wing, for being found on premises used for opium smoking, was fined £15. Counsel for accused said both men were opium addicts and hard workers, who were smoking for relaxation.
