RUGBY,~Feb. 12. ; Jl British engineering firm, Messrs Ransomes and Rapier, of Tpswich, has ieecured from the Egyptian Government ia £210,000 contract for the construc* jtion of sluice gates on ihe new Moham«xnad Aly barrage, which is being built jat a cost of 250,000, at the junetion |cf the Nile, north of Gairo. Ninetyjfonr pairs of sluice gates and six power-operated machines of special deMgn for use with the gates are to be built.
