Pukeno Case Recalled BOTH MEN GUILTY

AUCKLAND, This Day. After a retirement of one hour tue jury returned a verdict of guilty on all counts in the Supreme Court in which Clement Robert Lawson and George Frederick Murphy were cbarged with breaking and entering by night the Farmers' Trading Co.'s shop at Pokeno with intent to commit a crome, and with having house-breaking in- . struments in their possession. Murphy was also charged with having geiignite in his possession. The defence was that accused callcd at the store for the legitimate purpose of securing petrol. Accuseds' counsel, Mr. Sullivan said that Lawson was wearing rubber gloves for driving, and Murphy had put on a pair as a protection against acid when battery trouble was experienced. Accused were remanded for sentence.
