OTATARA MOTOR CAMP
Suggested Use For Overflow From Napier Camp CONFERENCE TO BE CALLED With a view to advancing the popularity of the Taradale motor campmg ground at Otatara, which has several natural advantages, the Taradale Town Board last night decided to take steps to convene a conference of bodies interested in Napier with the idea of having it utilised for the overflow from the Napier camp. A letter was received from Mr. E. P. Smyrk suggesting that steps should be taken by the board to induce the Napier Borough Council and others interested in Napier to recognise the great asset that the Otatara camp offered to Napier. The possibilities were worthy of being explored. The chairman, Mi J. Williamson, said that Mr Smyrk's suggestion was worthy of consideration by the board. The Otatara camping ground was an excellent site, and could cope with -surpius campers from the Napier camp for many years. With greater use the board could add to the facilities already provided Mr. J. A. Wilkinson stated that the Otatara camp had become a regular resort for a number of Napier people. The board agreed to call a conference with a view to the further, development of the grounds.
