REMINDERS

The queition of increasing the Jiopulation of New Zealand is hecommg a matter of first-rate importance, especially since the recent census figures disclosed a rapidly slackening advance in numhers, with the prospect of a stationary and, later, a cleclining population for the Dominion. The Hon. W. E. Barnard, M.P., is to give an address on the subject in the Rialto Tearooms, Hastings, this evening, when the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, will preside. A eordial invitation to all interested in this vital topic is extended. The meeting is the second of a series which Mr Barnard proposes to addiess throughout tho Dominion. Major H. C. Gofiixi, recently of Napier and now Dominion secretary for bands and songsters, will be conducting all meetings this week-end in the Salvation Army Hall, Warren street. In addition to the morning and evening servjces^ the Major will conduct a "Happy Hour" *t 3 o'clock r>n Sunday afternoon. On Monday night the. Major will preside over a musical festival given by the Napier and Hastings bands and songsters. The Sunday School recommences both in town and at Whakatu. Children are requested te note the changed position of the Sunday School hall, ctrner Lyndnp road and Warren stroet .
