MELBOURNE NOTES
(Received 12, 11.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 12. Gold Rod is not an acceptor for th« St. George Stakes on Saturday. There is nothing wrong with him, as he again pleased in his track trials. Cuddle apparently has fully recovered. She went well on the tracks. She has accepted for the St. George Stakes, in which another interesting competitor will be the imported horse Plymouth Sound, who has been performing hrightly on the tracks in company, with his stablemate, another imported horse, Cry Havoc. Lynch Law is not racing on Saturday. He contracted a cold soon after his arrival in Melboume and struck himself when playing, hitting a leg with a flat shoe, which caused him to . go sore. The injury is very slight, and Jamieson is not fearing any serious result, although the easing in the horse's training may mean nussing a race at Caulfield,
