DEFENCE EXPENDITURE
British Increase too Great For Revenue CAPITAL TO BE RAISED (Received 12, 11.15 a.m.) LONDQN, Feb. 11. In the House of Commons Mr Neville Chamberlain, Chancellor of tNs Exchequer, said that expenditure on defence was growing at such a pace that it was impossible to rneet it entirely from revenue. He would shortly introduce a Bill authorising the raismg of capital or the use of Budget surplusee, specifying a limit of £400,000,000 spread over five years and redeemanle in 30 years. Parliament would control the annual expenditure.
