Building Under State Scheme Probable AREAS INSPECTED That in all probability a certain number of houses will be erected in Hastings under the Goyernment housing scheme was the announcement made by the Mayor Mr. G. A. Maddison, at the meeting of the Hastings Borough , Council last evening, when he reported that Mr. R. B. Hammond, Director of Town Plannmg, who is also an officer under the housing scheme, together with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, had visited Hastings on Wednesday to inspect the areas that have been offered to the Government for building upon under the housing scheme. "The vai-ious areas under offer were inspeeted, and as far as can be aseertained it seems fairly certain that- a certain amount will be allocated to Hastings," said the Mayor, "but 1 cannot say bow many houses will be erected."
