28-POINT LEAD TO HAVELOCK
Rainbow Shield Swimming at Mahora KEEN C0MPETITI0N A lead of 28 points has been gained by the Havelock North representatives in the Rainbow Shield and Baird Pennants inter-swimming competition. The second series was held by the Mahora Club last night, and again the majority of the honours went to the Villagers, their lead for the night alone beiiig 20 points. There was an oxcellent attendanco, and the crowd greatly appreciated tho Innovation introduced by the enter* prising officials of annQunclng the rasults through the loud-speahter of tho radio eet recently installed at the school. Compatition was very keen all events, -and the crowd was thrilled bn a number of occasions by the exciting finishes that resulted, The points gained by the three club? concerned in the competition are now as follow. —
At the conclusion of the competitiorevent a polo match was played between Havelocit North and a combined Here-taunga-Mahora team, the resuit being a win for the Villagers by' two goaiS to one.
