In a case in the High Court at Kasama, in Rliodesia, in which a native named Lamak Kahunda was charged with the rnurdcr of his wife, it was alleged that after a second confession of misconduet hy the woman the "accused decided to brand her with a burniug iron, He did so, and tlie woman died from the effects of the burning. The charge was reduced to onp of manslaughter, aud Kabunda was sentenced to ten years ' impri'sonment with hard labour, and to xeceive ten lashes. *
