No Racing on Public Park

, GISBORNE, Last Night. - An intimation that in future race 'meetings will not be permitted on the Park Domain was conveyed to a meeting of the Makaraka Domain Board byt the Minister of Internal Affairs, the, Hon. W. E. Parry. - The Minister stated that. he had ■most reiuctant to. aunrove of tho inicreased .charges for admissiou to the domain for this woek's meetiug and that future applications will not be en■tertained. "I heartily disapprove of the people 's ■resexves being used for the puxpose of racing," stated the Minister, "partieularly when a raeeeourse is available in the district. In anticipation of a similar future request I now state definiteiy that approval of an application for in•creased charges will not be given." The Mayor, Mr D. W. Coleman, M.P., stated that the only hope now was to ;make a further appeal to the Minister when he visited Gisborne.
