Ex-War Chief Baronet Must Share His Child

Head of the British Intelligence Service in America during the war, and now a prominent banker, Sir Williain George Eden Wiseman, Bt., was defendant in a law dispute over the custody of his eight-year-old daughter which was settled in Kew York l7His former wife, Lady Patrice Virginia Wiseman, had accused her husband of withholding their daughter Sheila from her in violation of an agreement signed prior to their Reno divorce in 1933. A settlement was reached whereby Lady Wiseman will share her child 7s custody. She had eharged her husband with keeping the child "prisoner" in Ms home. "We agreed to do nothing to alienate the love of our daughter," she said. "I have sufficient means to maintain a suitable home for my daughter. "My former husband pays me, £1,440 a year." Sir William, who is now guiding partner in the big banking house of Kuhn, Loeb and Co., was formerly of the British Foreign 0ffi.ee.
