Extra-Prime Quality Makes to 33/6
" STORTFORD VALUES FIRM
A moderate yarding of fat sheep ui Stortford Lodge yesterday maintained late rates. Extra-prime • quality lambs. the best yarded for some time, made to 33/6. Ewes predominated the yarding. and a large percentage of these were aged sheep of medium to infftrior quality. The top line of wethers, in from Maraekakaho and offered on aeeount of Mr. H. Gascoyne, brought 28/-. For the earlier portion of the selling bidding was eonfined to two or three but it brightened considerably as the sale progressed, although there was no material hardening in values. The few pens of extra-prime lambs provided the brightest selling in the offering. Values were realised as follow for selected entries: — Seventeen heavy prime-quality ewes made good buying at 21/-. y A bid of 20/- secured 53 lighter ewejs from the same draft. Five heavy, well-woolled, prlmequality, blaek-faced lambs made 28/G In from Fernhill, 20. early-shori. prime, heavy ewes brought 21/1.. ' ■ In from Maraekakaho, "6l" wvl! framed, heavy ewes, flot too gross. being good summer mutton, made t" 20/3. Also from Maiaekakahe, 19 heavy prime wethers, early shorn and weP finished, brought 28/-. Three extra-heavy, prxme-quaim black-faced lambs brought 30/-. Two extra-heavy, well-woolled, priun lambs of outstandirtg quality brought 33/6. Two more similar heavy la.ni 1^ made 1/- less. Fine extra-heavy, prime-qnabi v black-faced lambs made 31/9.
