N.Z. TOURING TEAM

-Presm Association.)

(By Telegraph-

AUCKLAND, Last Night, It is understood ,that representations are being made to have the number of New Zealand cricketers for the English tour increased. The present limit of fourteen and a manager is regarded as a big handicap, to the selectors, and possibly to the: team on four, though the manager (Mr. ' T. C. Lowry) is expected to play when needed. One question exercising the minds Of the selectors is whether to fcen6 two Wioketkfeepers or choose one and leave Mr. Lowry to act as deputy. There are batsmen in plenty, but the search for bowlerB presents another problem,j which will not be solved until fhej Otago-Canterbury nlatch is plhyed. Meanwhile, the selectors are choosing: eight or nine certainties, whoee names will be submitted to the New ZealAiitf Councli, which already has choseh MJ L. Page as captain. The other certainties are likely to come from Moloney, Roberts, Hadlee, Vivian, Cowie, TindiU, Wallace, Carson, and Kerr, fho'ugh the last-named haS not done well in representative matches this season. Apart from Molonly and Tindill, several Wellington players are on the verge, Blandford, previotrsly regarded as a Certainty, Grifflths, Donnel-, ly, Galliehan, and Parsloe being among them. Blundell on last season's form would have been a certainty.
