KERERU GATHERING
A very pleasant out-of-doora meecing was held on Saturday lalst by the Kereru Women's Institute, the place chosen being in the shade of the willows by the streair on Whanakino Station. Mrs. L. R. Averill was hostess, and Mrs. C. G. Averill opened the meeting with the aspirations. There was a good attendance of meinbery. The motto for the day: "Children of wealth or want, to each is given one spot of green and all the blue of heaven. " The roll call "My Favourite Film Star" was answered by all The monthly competition, "article made from salt bags," was won by Mrs. W. Johnston, her entry being a very dainty baby's bonnet in drawnthread work. Mrs. W. A. Whyte was second with an embroidered dress collar, and Mrs. L. R. Averill third with hand-woTlced handkerchiefI The Ee'st Bloom competition was won by Mrs. W. Johnston; Mrs. Kay was second; Mrs C. Averill and Mrs. Kav t were equal third.
