Match For "Frothblowers' Cup"

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. During the week-end, on Ihe Mount Vernon range, the members of the Waipukurau Defence Rifle Club met tbe sergeants of the let Wellington Itegiment for the "Frothblowers' Cup." During the shoot an interval was taken to partake of afternoon tea, which was kindly provided by the sergeants. Major Stace, E.D., O.C. of the regiment, followed the shoot with keen interest, and bafore leaving wished all the teams ever'y suece-ss, saying he hoped that the competition would continue in the future. The ranges for which this trophy was shot were 200 and 300 yards, Keen competition between- the four teams was maintained throughout, the successful team being Waipukurau A. At the conelusion of the shoot Lieut. T, Thornton, range officer, presenfced Bflm. F. N. McVicar with the cup, and congratulated the team on its succoss. Rflm. McVicar suitably replied, thankmg the sergeants for the very enjoyable afternoon. Details of the shooting are as follow: —
