COMPLETE DENIAL
Defence to Charge of fndecent Assault Patrick O'Shannessy, a labourer, of Taradale, entered a plea of,not gui'lty m the Supreme Court at Napier this morning before Mr Justice Ostler to a charge of indecently assaulting a male at Meeanee on December 4 last. The jury had not returned witn a verdict vvhen the Herald-Tribune went to press this afternoon. In his defence, conducted by Mr W. Selwyn Averill, aecused made a complete denial that any assault had taken place. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr H, B. Lusk, conducted the prosecution. The following jury was empauelled: Messrs F. R. S. Ashton (foreman), R Cox, L. P. Clark, Q . H. Harrispn, U. G. Ethcridge, R,. H Wilson, N. J. McCormick, A. Hardacre, Q. Hausen. R. B. Lambourne E B, \ ouugliusband and J. O. Tait. In his snmming-up, His Honour said that Lawrence Gannaway, a man afied 30, who the Crown alleged had been assaulted was obviously a person of sub-normal ' mentality.
