General Franco officially broadcast the capture of Malaga and the occupation of the centre of the city by General De Llano's southern army, whom the populace enthusiastically welcomed. Gibraltar messages state that rebel wireless stations announce the surrender of Malaga after lo.oting by the Loyalists. Eebel wamhips are reported to have entered the port. The British fruit steamer Hallfern has arrived "at Gibraltar from Malaga with refugees, who are not yet pexmitted to land.
