Thlrty members of tbe House of C'oxnmons spoke in favour of a resolution proposed at a crowded gathering of tbe Pariiamentary committee of the Empire Industxies Association, which. declared: "This meeting, h&ving noted Herr Hitler's speech of January 80, ro* aiflrms its previoug opipion that there can be no transference of territories held under the "British flag. ' The committee recalls responsible Ministers ' emphatie pledges concerning the queation and it is further convinced that, while the German claim will gravely imperil the Empire 's strategie safety and impair its homogeneity, •specially in Afriea, such claim would nat substantially relieve Germany regarding raw materials and the settlement of her people. ' 1 However, the meeting would weleome any proposals for meeting the roal diificulties encountered by Germans and others in securing adequate accesa to supplies of raw materials and food* stuffs. ' ' ^ The resolutios was passed with one dissentient.
