Eager to meet any request, they were continually in the water giving partiQularly' pleasing performanees in every branch of swimtmng , activitioa. Hodgson, th'e outstasding member of the team, fi?By lived up to bis reputation as a remarkable swimmer, and there were several who wero but littlo behind him. Although the visitors only drew with Hawke'e Bay in the water-polo match, it ig apparent that the local side will have its work cut out to avert defeat at the Maddison Baths, Hastings, to-night, as the Australians were having their first match togethe?. A splendid game ehouid eventuate. Added interest will be given to tonight 's carnival by the appearanco of E. Simon and Dave Lindsay, of Dannevirke.
