THE DANNEVIRKE SHOW
To-morrow and Wednesday Preparations have been completed for the Dannevirke A. and P. Show, to be held on the picturesque groimds in the borough to-morrow and on Wednesday, February 9 and 10, and to be followed by the ram fair on Thursday. With rccord entries in the principal sections this year's exhibition will be outstanding. There wil] be a magnificent display of horses, sheep, cattle and dogs, while other aspecte of the show wil] be fulJ of interest. This year the various sxdeshows — and there will be many and varied in attendance — will be accommodatcd in a new- situation. whieh should be an advantage to all, whilo the special night programmes arrangod will surpass anything yet attempted in this respect. To-morrow evexiing the Itualnne Pipc Band, 24 strong, in full regalia, fresb from its recent success at the Welling-ton-Hawke's Bay provincial competition at Palmerston North, will present a fine programme, includiiig a drummajor's display and test selections, and they are worth going a long way to see and hear. For Wednesday evening the fanious Korangata Maori Choir from Hastings, comprising 35 voices, will bo rcsponsible for the entertainnient. The prize-winning combinatinn will submit popular part 6ongs which have made them famous, duets, quartettes, - action songs in costume, dances and hakas, end should prove an irresistible attraetion. A big influx of visitors is oxpected and there is every reason for nntici pating tliat this year's show 'will be an outstanding one in every respect. Com petitions and ring events on. both days will result in keen rivalry as largc Mtrif* have been received.
