DEAD-HEAT TO TWO N.Z.-BRED COLTS Williamstown Races •(Eeceived February 8, 8.45 p.m.) MELBOUENE, Feb. 7. The New Zealand-bred horses, Golden Pxomise and Prince Quex, fought out a stirring finish in the richly-endowed Williamstown Stakes. Prince Quex Jter following Golden Promise in the middle of the field in tlie early stages shot to the front entering the straiglit and appeared to have the race won when Golden Promise, yigorously ridden by Skidmore, got up in the last atride for a dead heat -vvith Boongarry one and a-half lengths away third. Greenhorn was unplaced in the Wyndham. Handieap and Cape Lilock was un-
