Port Beat Havelock North A very enjoyhble afternoon was spent on tbe Havelock North green on Saturday, wb©n tbe port Ahuriri Club was sucoessful in their eballenge for the Johuston Eartbquake Cup. The' green was true and fast, and tbere was some very interesting play, Port w0n on tbe aggregate of 149 points to 115. At the conclusion of play, Mr. J, P. Boyle, president of tbe Havelock Club, in handing over tbe cup to Mr John McCarthy, president of tbe Port Club, said bow pleased be was to see sucb a large contingent of their Porf friends, and he trusted they bad all spent a pleasant afternoon. Mr McCarthy thanked Mr Boyle for bis remarks, and congratulated the club on the green, which, he said, was tbe best be had played on this season. Cbeers were bhen gjven all round.
