Hawke's Bay Fours Being Contested PLAY AT WAIPUKURAU All bowling clubs were represented when the first round of the ehaimpion fours coxnmenced on the Waipukurau Club's greens at 9 o'clock this morning. Perfect weather prevailed, there beuig bright .sunshine with no wind, The green is in splendid order and everything points to a very fine day's bowling. The contest is attracting considerable interest, there being a large gallery of spectators present. Napier, last year 's winners, are again represented by a very strong rmk, skipped by Lngebretsen, while Bluff Hui, who were runners-up last year, have entrusted this year's ribk to the leadership of Lomas. The first round play resulted a-s follows; — Havelock (Coombe, Tucker, Crombie, Wilson) 26 v. Nationai Service (Schofield, Rowland, Sloan, Elder) 10. Napier (Elmes, Bryan, Burgess, Engebretsen) 30 v. Heretaunga (Evison, TTsherwood, Collinge, Drury) - 19. Wairere (Williams, Benton, Wray, Venables) 31 v. tPort Ahuriri (Johostone, Andresen, Boyd, Mayo) 17. Waipawa (Critchley, Adjeane, Patterson, Eagle) 30 v. Kia Toa (Adamson. Harris, Brown, Godber) 12. Hastings (Waters, Kruse, Duff, Parkinson) 21 v. Bluff Hill (SomersetSmith, Holt, Webley, Lomas) 22. Waipukurau (Tayior, Jones, Richards, Clarkson) 29 v. Omarunui ( Wilkinson, Brown, McDonald, Oliver) 25.
