Hobart Plane Crashed Into Hillside STRUCK TREE IN FOG

(Received February 6, 11.45 p.m.) HOBART, Feb. 6, The Air Force plane that was believed to have been lost ln Basa Strait was discovered in hilly coun try near Waratah. A search party located the wreck and reported that both the crew are alive Sergeant W. H. Gould and FlightLieutenant G. K. Buscombe, were found alive and well beside the w recked Hawker Demon. The men had an amazing escape from death. The plane crashed into a hillside when the pilot was attempting to inake a forced landing after the tip of one wing had struck a tree in fog. The machine turned upside down. Buscombe was trapped in the cockpit but escaped with minor injuries. Gould' was saved by his rubber vest, which he had inflated.
