NAPIER SOUND-SHELL

Nottingham Engineer Interested News of Napier's sound-sbell on the Marine Parade has now spread to the Old Country, and the city engineer' s department at Nottingham is eager to receive from the designer, Mr J. T. Watson, architect, of Napier, details of its design and construction. Mr Watson, who will be glad to give the information desired, has received the following letter1 i'rom Nottingham, sigiied by the city engineer, Mr P. M. Finch : — "I have h^i an interesting oonversation with Sir Albert Atkey, who has recently returned from a trip to New Zealand, which he visited in connection with the Federation oi Chambera of Commerce congiress. He described to me some of the wonderful improvements which were •being*,carried out in your town since the disastrous earthquake, and more particularly he described to me the type of sound-shell you have constructed for band performances, etc. "If it is not troubling. you unduly, I shall bo pleased to receive further details of its design and construction and would be happy to reciprocate by providing ^ou with any similar information from this end should you require it at any time.
