Theft Alleged At Christchurch

CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 5. William Wallaee MeClelland, sharebroker, aged 52, faced fourteen cliarges of theft invoiving £2626 Ss 6d this faorning in the Magistrate's Court before Mr. E. C. Levvey, S.M. Three Australian witnesses gave evidence, They were Detective-Sergeant A, L, Nyp and Detective-Constable H. W. Miller, of the Criminal Inveskigation Branch of the New Soutk Wales State Pplice, and Mr. P. H. Curtis, chief accpuntant for the Produeers and General Finance Corporation, Ltd., of Syduey. 'Evidence had been taken previously from persons mentioned in the cliarges who claimed that they had givgn MeClelland the money as payment for shares which, they said, they had never received. Aecused pleaded not guilty and was eonrmitted to the Supreme Court foi trial.
