GIFT EVENING IN NAPIER FOR MISS V. HILL
Miss Valerie Hill, Napier, who is shortly to be married was the guest of honour at a delightful party given for her by Mrs R. Norman and her daughter, Dorothea, at their residenee in Roslyn road, last evening. Mrs Norman, who xeceived the guests wore a model frock of black georgette lightly patterned with field flowers. Miss Dorothea Norman wore a dainty floral frock of crepe de chine trimmed with hand made flowers of the material, and the guest of honour was in pink floral georgette finished with flowers of the deeper shade. The drawing rooin was deeorated with blue and gfeen hydrangea, bronze tiger lilies and fern. The early part of the evening was spent in competitions and games, Mrs Wylie and Miss V. Hill receiving trophies as winners of the competitons. A savoury supper was served and the unwrappng of th gifts vfollowed, Miss Hill having the assistanee of Miss Norman who is to be chief bridesmaid. Yery charming and useful gifts were revealed and, in a neat speech, the guest of honour thanked her hostesses and friends for their kind thoughts and the good wishes expressed with the gifts. Those present were: Mrs and Miss Norman, Mrs L. Hill and Miss Y. Hill, Mrs H. Mayo and Miss Mayo, Mesdames W. Rowan, Wylie, W. Newton, B. B'. Creagh,' Handley (Wellington) /> Banks, Ian Hannah.
