65TH ANNIVERSARY

. Court Sir Charles Napier . On January 29, 1872, a band of 27 enbusiasts cnet in Napier and founded the Court Sir Charles Napier, whicb celebrated its 65th anniversary at tbe Foresters' Hall, Napier, on Saturday evening. Tbe guest-of -honour was Bro. F. W. Garnpr, P.D.C.R., who is perhaps better known to many - Hawke's Bay.residents as Major Garner, and who recently attained tbe age of 89 years. A lengthy toast-list was honoured at tbe well-attendca gatberin'g on Saturday, and a fine programme was given by tbe Napier Frivolity Minstrels. Following is tbe toast-list: — ' ' Tbe King " ( cbairman) ; "The Hawke's Bay District A.Q.F." (Bros. G. I. Clarke, P.D.C.R., and W. Kemsley, D.C.R.); "Court Sir Charles Napier" (Bros. L. T. Bisson, P.D.C.R., and C. W. Baillie, C.R.); "Our Old Members" (Bros. E. R. Spriggs, D.S.R.C., and F. W. Garner, P.D.C.R.); "Our Sister Oourts" (Bro. K. McAftney P.O.R., and representatives ) ; " Sister Institutions ' ' (Bro. J. A. Nodwell, P.D.C.R.); "Tbe Ladies ' ' (Bros. C. S. Deverell, P.C.R., and J. G. Skinner, S.B.); "Tbe Performers ' ' (Bro. F. A. Foote, P.C.R., and Mr S. P. Spiller). The programme was brougbt to a close by the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
