Mrs Margaret McAuIay

The death of .Mrs. Margaret MeAulay, wife of Mr. B. S. McAulay, and one of the pioneer settlers of Elsthorpe, occurred early tbis morning at ber residenee, "Bosewood." Tbe late. Mrs. MeAulay was born at Clive. Sbe was in ber 73rd year. Possessed of a very kindly- manner, sbe was loved and esteemed by all wbo knew ber. Sbe took a very keen and aetive interest in - church work and soeial gatherings and during the Great War was an industrious worker on behalf of tbe men at the Front, taking a leading part in most of the aetivitiesconducted in tbe district during tbat period. No function or activity in eonnection witb the Presbytevial Church was complete witbout ' Mrs. McAulay 's taking a leading part, and in addition sbe was an entbusiastic. worker on beluilf of tbe Plunkct Society as well as an active member of the commitLoe oi the Elsthorpe Women 's Institute. The sympathy of a host of friendf ivU ] be extcnded to Mr. MeAulay and tbe remaiuing members of tbe family, two daughte'rs, MCsdames I. Hunter, of Dannevirke, and S. Merrick, of Norsewood; and four sons, Messrs. W. Mc Aulav, of Elsthorpe, G. McAulay, oi Kaiwaka, S. MeAulay, of Norsewood, and H. McAulay, of -Taradale. Therc are also 1G grandckildren and1 oue-great-grandchild. ' The funera] will take place at Taradale to-morro -afternoon.
