The circumstances surroundiug the outbfeak led to a thorough investiga-. tion by the. police, for fhe macbluq had not been used since; the previuug day and, as far as was known, had not even been handled by an anthoris., ed person dqring the day. Interesting) developments took placf this morning, Detective-Sergeant L. B. J. Revell effecting the arrest of a man who, it is alleged, wqs responsihle for thei putbreak of the fire, and who was recently femporarily in the .employ of Mr McOormick. The accused is to ap^ pear before the Court this afternoon.
