CHILD DROWNED

Accident in Te Awamutu Baths BODY FOUND BY MOTHER A two-year-old gii-1, Moya Odessa Mather, daughter of Mr°and Mrs L. Mathei'j Te Awamutu Was found drowned in the municipal baths on Sqturday afternoon. The child apparently wandered'from a house nearby, wbere the parents were visiting friends, and got into the baths by crawling through an open space beneathe the gatea. The baths were ciosed at the timo, the gates being securelv fastened, and the attendant off duty. Aa soon as the child' s absence was uoted the parents began a sesarch and the mother found the qhild's body floating in the batlis. ' The father applied artificial respiration and a doctor was ■called, but the girl was found to be flead. A vel'dict of accidental drowning was returned by the district coroner, Mr G- A.
