Collins, of Gonville, Wanganui, is on a visit to Hastings and staying with Mr and Mrs J. Stickland The Misses Godd, Wharerangi, left this morning for Wellington, and will join tbe Wanganella leaving on Thursday for fhe Milford Sound cruise. Mrs Waiter ' MiUer and small daughter, of Southland, who have been on an extended visit to Mrs Millev 's parents, Mr and Mrs Stanley J ones, Kennedy road, Napier, returned home yesterday. Mrs J. Platten, of Poralte, sails by tlie Port Nicholson from Wellington on February 27 to join her husband in London. Mr Platten, who spent somo years in Napier as a journalist, is now ineeting with succesa with hie literary work being published in England, Mrs Richardson, who is an Englisb visitor to New Zealand, was the guest of Bishop F. A. and Mrs Bennett last week-end. She is now staying at Rotorua for a week and on her return will be the guest of Mrs H. M. Campbell, at Waimarama. Members of the executive of cho Hastings Orchestral Society made a aurprise call on a vecent afternoon upon Mrs J. W. MacLachlan, who is shortly leaving for the Old Country, and made her the recipient of a small token of their appreciation o£ the services Bhe has given the society. The presentatiou was made by Mr F • J. Tonkin, chairman of the executive, who expressed the thanks of the society for the everready help and support that Mrs MacLachlan had given and wi-shed her and her family every happiness and prosperity. Mrs E. A. W. Henley, who has been staying with various friends in Hawke's Bay since Christmas, has returned to Napier and will remain there till she leaves for Wellington to join tho Rotorua on March 6.
